01 / Solid wood
Wood with its own character.
Solid wood is the starting point for each design. Grain, colour and texture shape the piece. Timber is selected to bring the material and form together.
Wide, full-length boards give the natural grain room to show. Their arrangement and the joints between them are part of the design. A carefully made joint can remain visible.
02 / Construction
Built with staying power in mind.
Good construction supports the load, allows for the natural movement of timber and makes care and repair easier. These considerations belong in the design from the start.
Joints are chosen to suit the material and the load. Hardware should fit discreetly into the design and remain accessible for maintenance or replacement.
03 / The process
Make the craft visible.
Photographs and films are planned to document the making, from rough boards and joinery to the finished surface. They will show how a design takes shape.
That includes adjustments, trials and decisions along the way. Each project story will grow with the work in the workshop.
