01 / Solid wood
Material. Through and through.
Wood is chosen, not applied as a surface. Real solid timber is the starting point, with its weight, grain and its own way of moving.
For broad surfaces, the preference is for two wide, full-length boards matched for colour and grain. A clean lengthwise joint can remain visible. A patchwork of short or narrow strips is not the idea.
02 / Construction
Built with staying power in mind.
Good construction has to do more than look right in a photograph. It should carry the load, allow the timber to move, and be serviceable and repairable.
We focus on a few joints and make them carefully. Hardware stays discreet and accessible. Anything without a function needs a very good reason.
03 / The process
The second attempt belongs here too.
The making will be documented on film: from rough boards through planing, joinery and assembly to finishing and the reveal. The furniture comes first. The film follows the craft.
Decisions, adjustments and mistakes can remain visible. Sometimes they are exactly the part you remember later.
